GAR Global Business Summit 2025

Please join us for the 2025 GAR Global Business Summit on Wednesday, January 22nd at the Greenwich Water Club for a morning of valuable insights from industry experts while connecting with your peers. Breakfast and networking begin at 8:30 AM, followed by presentations starting at 9:00 AM.

Speakers:

• Kate DeCarlo – GSD Home Staging: Kate has always had a passion for design. After a decade in the fashion industry spanning New York City and Greenwich, she transitioned into marketing and advertising sales. During her nearly ten years at Serendipity Magazine, she excelled at helping advertisers promote their businesses. With two small children at home, Kate made the decision to take a break and concentrate on family life. It didn’t take long for her creative spirit to pull her back into the professional world, this time merging her love of interior design and real estate as a home stager. Since launching GSD in 2017, she has transformed her business from an independent venture into a renowned staging company. Kate has committed herself to making each project a success. She has found great fulfillment in staging numerous properties throughout Westchester and Fairfield County.
• Matt Pugliese – Connecticut Department of Community and Economic Development: Matthew J. Pugliese was named Deputy Commissioner and Chief Investment Officer of the Department of Economic and Community Development (DECD) on January 1, 2024. In this role he oversees all real estate, capital project, brownfield and community development initiatives and compliance activities of the department. Previously, he served as DECD’s Executive Director of Community Development where he managed multiple state grant programs supporting a diverse range of capital projects. Matt joined the department in 2022 to help launch the Community Investment Fund 2030 program, an $875 million-dollar, five-year program fostering economic and community development in historically underserved communities across the state. Prior to joining DECD, Matt served as the Associate State Director of the Connecticut Small Business Development Center and held leadership positions in higher education at UConn and nonprofit organizations. Matt currently serves on the Town of Old Saybrook’s Board of Selectmen and is a past chair of the town’s Economic Development Commission. He earned his Masters in Public Administration from the UConn School of Public Policy and bachelor’s degree from the UConn School of Fine Arts.
