GAR adheres to all educational standards and rules passed down from the Connecticut Department of Consumer Protection, the regulating body for all licensed real estate professionals in Connecticut. All CE courses offered by GAR are approved by the CT DCP. More information can be found on portal.ct.gov.
The CT DCP requires all licensed salespersons to complete Continuing Education prior to every even-year renewal.
As a reminder, agents may NOT repeat the same course with the same course within the same renewal period for credit. Please review your completed course certificates or contact GAR for confirmation to avoid duplicating a course.
As a member of the National Association of REALTORS®, completing an approved Ethics course every three years is a requirement. The current training cycle (Cycle 7) runs from January 1, 2022, to December 31, 2024. To check your status and explore training options, please visit: https://nar.realtor/code-of-ethics-training.
If you haven't yet completed the course, we invite you to register for one of the upcoming sessions offered by GAR. Both sessions also qualify for Continuing Education Credits for the 2024-2026 Cycle:
- December 9th - Zoom
Alternatively, you can complete your Ethics course online through The CE Shop or NAR (non-CE) and simply submit your completion certificate to primary REALTOR® Association.
If you have already completed the Code of Ethics course through another real estate school between January 1, 2022, to the present date, please email a copy of your certificate to your primary REALTOR® Association for reporting to NAR.
We encourage you to register for a course at least one (1) day prior to the class date so we can prepare for your participation.
We understand that schedules change, and you may need to cancel a registration. Classes and paid events can be canceled and refunded up to 48 hours before the class / event.
A member cannot transfer their registration to another member for classes or events. You may, however, transfer to a future date the course is being offered (if applicable) at no additional charge, up until the start time for that class.
There are no refunds for no-shows.
If for any reason the class or event is canceled by GAR, you may receive a full refund or transfer to a new date it is being offered.
On-Demand Continuing Education classes are available to you via The CE Shop.
