Nestled across the northern Old Greenwich, Riverside, and Cos Cob sections you’ll find North Mianus. A community known for its location along the Mianus River, Mianus is understood to be named after Mayamus, the chief of the Siwanoy Tribe of Native Americans that inhabited the area when Europeans first encountered them.
A primarily residential community, North Mianus offers a wide range of amenities including various housing options and two of Greenwich’s eleven public elementary schools: North Mianus School and the International School at Dundee.
The area also boasts miles of riverfront property, as well as access to multiple parks and nature trails. The Mianus River Park, located on the Greenwich Stamford line boasts nearly 400 acres of preserved land. The park is open year round to outdoor enthusiasts (and their dogs!) for activities such as walking, running, biking, fly-fishing, bird-watching, and more!
