December 2019 Greenwich Sales

January 16, 2020 (Greenwich, CT) – The Greenwich Association of REALTORS® announces the statistics for home sales in The Town of Greenwich, CT for the month of December 2019.

There were 37 single-family residential closings reported during this period according to figures provided by The Greenwich Multiple Listing Service, Inc., the multiple listing service used by REALTORS® in the Greenwich area.

The number of single-family residential closings decreased compared to December 2018 when there were 50 closings. The median sale price for a single-family home increased to $1,825,000 from median sales price in December 2018, which was $1,487,500.

The average days on the market (DOM) for residential homes was 258 days; which was an increase from 250 days in December 2018.

There were 15 condo/co-op residential closings reported during this time period; which was a decrease from December 2018 when there were 23 closings.

The median sale price for a condo/co-op increased to $687,000 from $685,000 the median sales price in December 2018.

The average days on the market (DOM) for condo/co-op residential homes was 197; which was a decrease from 254 days in December 2018.

“December 2019 had thirty-seven single family residential closings and a median sale price of $1,825,000; A 22% increase from November 2018 when the median sale price was $1,487,500. Greenwich was the sector in town with the most closings, ending December with twenty sales, with a median sale price of $1,922,500; A sixteen percent increase from the median sale price in December 2018, which was $1,650,000. Condo/Co-Op sales had fifteen closings in December 2019, with a median sale price of $687,000. 2019 closed out with 527 sales and a median sale price of $1,866,000” stated John McAtee, 2019-2020 President of the Greenwich Association of REALTORS®.
