CT REALTORS® Foundation Awards $45,000 in Scholarships

2019 Raymond F. Gates Jr. Memorial Scholarship Winners Announced

EAST HARTFORD, CT (June 14, 2019) – The Connecticut REALTORS® Foundation announced their 2019 Raymond F. Gates, Jr. Memorial Scholarship winners.  The Raymond F. Gates, Jr. Memorial Scholarship Fund was established in 1976 in memory of Raymond F. Gates, Jr. following his tragic death in an automobile accident.  Mr. Gates was the Executive Vice President of the Connecticut REALTORS®. Over the past 43 years, children of REALTORS® have been awarded scholarships totaling more than $966,000.

For the 2018-2019 academic year, the Connecticut REALTORS® Foundation received 113 eligible applications. This year, 54 outstanding children of CT REALTORS® were selected to receive a total of $45,000 in scholarships.

The Greenwich Association of REALTORS® is proud to announce four local recipients were among the 54 selected:


Img 5002.heic 225x300Nicole Bartholomew, daughter of Robin Bartholomew, a REALTOR®-Associate with Berkshire Hathaway Home Services New England. Nicole Graduates from Greenwich High School in June and will attend Northeastern University this fall majoring in Biology


Img 4976.heic 225x300Jeremy Fertig, son of Ronald Fertig, a REALTOR®-Associate from William Raveis Real Estate. Jeremy graduates from Greenwich High School this June with plans to attend Duke University, Pratt School of Engineering to obtain aBachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering with a minor in Energy Engineering.


Img 5013.heic 225x300Emma Schaale, daughter of Yuka Kominami, a REALTOR®-Associate at Sotheby’s International Realty. Emma is a 2017 graduate of Greenwich High School who is currently attending the University of Rochester pursuing her Bachelor’s degree in Digital Media Studies. After graduation, she hopes to work as a graphic designer for a news orentertainment company or video game developer.


Img 5018.heic 225x300Derek Wang, son of George Wang, a REALTOR®-Associate with Park Allyn Realty Associates. Derek graduatesfrom Greenwich High School in June and will attend Emory University in the fall. He was an honor roll student throughout high school and a National Honors Society member.
